ABOUT ROG

As a key agency of the Philippine Government, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is charged with creating a business-friendly environment conducive to the growth of enterprises and supportive of fair and robust trade in goods and services both within and outside the Philippines.

DTI wears several hats and its primary aim is to advance the interests of every investor, exporter, micro, small and medium enterprise (mSME) and Filipino consumer.   Investment entry and expansion are eased through incentives and programs that make it easy to set up a business, market and ship products, and undertake new and larger projects. Services for exporters and mSMEs include product design, market promotion, and financing. Labor is helped through training to upgrade people’s skills and improve incomes. Consumers are made aware of their rights which DTI seeks to protect through, among other, strict enforcement of fair trade laws and prompt resolution of consumer complaints.

The Regional Operations Group of the DTI is responsible for carrying the several hats that DTI wears to the countryside. Composed of 16 regional offices and 79 provincial offices nationwide, the ROG ensures that the benefits of economic progress, through balanced agro-industrial developments in investments, fair competition, consumer welfare, and SME development, reach the provinces and become every Filipino’s gain.
